Pfingsten 2009 ohne Ü-GD

BatP hat geschrieben:This "magnificent" feast of Pentecost is nothing more than another complete letdown; a melodramatic production of little more than some fairly well done music. I am so disappointed. I have hungered for decades for meat and been served, again, nothing but angel food cake. Now I am gaunt and angry. Give me back my life, my dignity, my youth and my money! I have begged for teaching and you gave me dogma. I have begged for inclusion and you gave me superficiality. I have pleaded for experience of faith and you gave me silence. I have calloused knees and, now, a calloused heart. Read the transcript of this service and the last several CA services. They are empty cheerleading. I have a wonderful family and a wonderful wife, so I can do nothing but vent in this forum. I reject revealed religion in my heart. Present scripture or apologetic arguments if you will. It is all mythology.
LACNAC hat geschrieben:I am not going to offer any apologetics or scripture to you. I think this service, along with so any other transmission services, offer significant justification for doing away with transmission services and large scale services in general. The problem lies in that when you have such a broad audience, you end up having to hold a completely generic service that comes across devoid of much spiritual substance or depth. Much more depth (usually) comes out of smaller scale services where the message is more directed at the "needs" of a more defined group.
Shaquille hat geschrieben:The national and international church lacks spiritual substance because its leadership believes that they stand between believer and Chirst as the sole conduit to God. That is not consistent with the doctrine of Christ, and thus the NAC is spititually adrift.

I do acknowledge LACNAC's point of smaller services and a more focused point. However, relationship to Christ will forever be lacking so long as church theology is that "Jesus through apostles leads us." While there may be congregations and servants who are truly Christ-centered in their thinking and preaching, church structure will always serve to limit just how much Christ will be a part of the congregation. The best example is a transmission service that national leaders force upon the local congregations that is devoid of spiritual merit.

I would urge you BatP to seek out a spiritual environment that meets your families' needs. Some may be able to "tough it out" in the NAC, but others are dying spiritually. Too often I have seen people who waited too long, became too despondent, and were so disenchanted with the NAC that they left the church and never sought out or found any spiritual home. There are many wonderful places in which you will consistently find a joy of worship and service in the Lord. Start your search and find a place where Christ is truly the foundation of the church.

Happy fourth anniversary!

I wish I could help you- I may not be as faithful as I used to be but I do attend every Sunday. There just wasn't much substance. Although it is nice that the Chief Apostle and the serving District Apostles spoke in English- it does cause the service to not be very deep. I remember listening to previous Chief Apostles in German and the translation was much more powerful.

I guess the Chief Apostle should have stayed in Europe and we could have had a translation of a much more powerful service.

This has bothered me for a while now. We seem to spend more time on that part of the communion, including 1-2 special songs, than we do on communion for those present in body.
