Aus dem NACboardNAC Cares
On the 1st Sunday of December there was a PowerPoint presentation after a shorter service in all congregations of the Pennsylvania District. In all congregations but 1 the presentation was made by a sister.
The PA District has begun a program called NAC cares where there are 3 levels- one focusing on an individual or family in the congregation or someone known to the congregation that needs some short term care. This could be as simple as someone in the family has died and someone is going to take dinner over for the family. It was pointed out that many of these things have been done all along, this was just a way to formalize it.
The 2nd was a Community Project- something that the Congregation wanted to participate in- Community Blood Drive, etc. Again many of the congregations are also doing these type of things- this just formalizes it.
The 3rd was an International Project- something that the Congregation wanted to participate in.
It appears that the Congregation and the Districts have the leeway to do things like this. I think these type of things have been inspired by the belief that they are empowered to be able to make a decision (Local or District) and do something.
If a congregation or district does not take the initiative I guess nothing will happen- that may also be the case on other changes.
Aus dem selben Thema: Und wenn nun ...
No apostle led me to the New Apostolic Church. Christ did.
Thus, faced with the state the apostles' ministry has descended to, I feel uplifted and invigorated by the voices I hear on this Board clamoring for change; rather than feeling angst or disaffection or despair.
What if "Christ" has awakened the doubts and the awarenesses that are being expressed here on this Board? What if those injured, and dismayed in spirit, are in fact those that have "eyes to see" and "ears to hear"? And what if Christ has chosen these, "to save us from religiously sanctioned despair"? What if the in-your-face honesty and integrity of Steve Pathmann, Deaconess, CM69, Mr Troll , and all the others who have stood up and spoken truth, against the stultifying pressures of the New Apostolic 'norm', make Him truly truly proud? And what if that sort of aberration is exactly what is needed, as Vapour said, to "grow" the congregations?
